I'd say the major improvements would be made by way of getting a multiscan
monitor 1438/1940/1950/1960
2nd hand if you're short of cash or an '040. The speedup 030->040 is much
greater than 020->030.

This is since speed increases and improved displays will give a much more
"joyful" improvement :) than, say, a few
more Mb HD or faster CD...
